Privacy Policy

ZoomOut ("the App") is operated by Jake Builds ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your Google profile name. We use Supabase Auth to manage authentication.

Usage data. We store the search queries you submit, the stories you generate and view, your credit balance, and transaction history. This data is tied to your account so you can access your history and credits across sessions.

Device and technical data. We do not collect device identifiers, location data, or analytics telemetry. The App does not include any third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and operate the App — generating timelines, storing your stories, managing your credits
• Authenticate your identity and maintain your account
• Process credit purchases via our payment provider (Razorpay)
• Improve the App's content recommendations (e.g., trending stories, personalised suggestions based on your viewing history)

3. AI-Generated Content

When you submit a query, it is sent to our backend server, which calls the Anthropic Claude API with web-search capabilities to research and generate a timeline. Your query text is sent to Anthropic as part of this API call. Anthropic's use of API data is governed by their privacy policy. Anthropic does not use API inputs or outputs to train their models.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the following service providers, strictly to operate the App:

• Supabase — database hosting and authentication
• Anthropic — AI content generation (receives your query text)
• Razorpay — payment processing (receives payment details when you purchase credits; we do not store your card or bank details)
• Railway — backend server hosting
• Google — if you use Google Sign-In, Google processes your authentication

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in Supabase (hosted on AWS infrastructure). We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication tokens, and row-level security policies in our database. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data and story history for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

7. Your Rights

You can:

• Access your data — your stories, credits, and profile are visible in the App
• Delete your account — contact us at the email below and we will delete your account and associated data
• Export your data — contact us and we will provide your data in a machine-readable format

8. Children's Privacy

ZoomOut is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the App or on this page with a revised effective date.
